Honey Onyx 2CM

Yes — you can buy Honey Onyx here.

Onyx is rarely stocked and almost never sold online. Go-Granite supplies it to homeowners, designers and fabricators, and ships anywhere in the US.

What does Honey Onyx cost?

Onyx is priced per slab and varies enormously by block — colour, banding and clarity all move the number, and two slabs of the same name can differ by thousands. Text or call (940) 398-5589 with your ZIP and we'll send photos of what's actually available with a delivered price.

Backlighting

Onyx is the material people backlight, and it's what makes it worth the price. Lit from behind, the slab stops being a surface and becomes a light source — the banding reads like weather. It's specified for bar fronts, reception desks, feature walls, shower surrounds and island waterfalls.

For backlighting you generally want 2CM, an LED panel rather than strips to avoid hot spots, and a resin-backed or mesh-backed slab. Ask us — we'll tell you what the block will take.

Handle with care

Onyx is softer and more brittle than marble. It's calcium carbonate, so it etches from acids, and it can be brittle along the banding. Most slabs are resin-backed or mesh-backed for handling. It is a feature material — beautiful on a bar front or a vanity, and a poor choice behind a busy cooktop.
